Italy: Reaching Into Africa
In October, 1935, Premier Benito Mussolini of Italy targets Ethiopia as a new territory and source of raw materials and launches an invasion. Ethiopia's Emperor Haile Selassie mobilizes his troops, but the primitive tribesmen, armed only with spears and ancient rifles are no match for the highly mechanized Italian army. In less than 2 years the war is over, and Ethiopia is claimed as Italian territory.
